The Saratoga Springs Police Department will be conducting our 4th annual BASIC SWAT Tactics Course. This course is a good introduction for new SWAT officers and great training for patrol officers.
This Basic SWAT Tactics Course follows the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) standards. It is not a “Hell Week” or SWAT tryout. There will be no overnight requirement. Students will report daily at 0800 hours and conclude training at about 1800 hours. Students will be required to bring a lunch or grab lunch at Camp Williams (minimal facilities). Officers will bring their own ammunition.
Cost: $200 per officer (to cover targets, water, instructor costs, distraction devices, etc.)

De-Escalation for SWAT
Most topics will be introductory/familiarization with practical exercises for some of the topics. Live fire operations will be focused on improving pistol and SMG/rifle handling and proficiency. Safety will be paramount.
