The Utah Local Governments Trust is hosting monthly certification courses in Active Bystandership in Law Enforcement (ABLE) https://www.law.georgetown.edu/innovative-policing-program/active-bystandership-for-law-enforcement/ This course is held virtually, via Zoom.
ABLE is currently in 285 agencies, with 153,000+ officers at ABLE agencies throughout 40 states. The Trust provides this training and certification to all Utah Law Enforcement Agencies free of charge. Currently, ABLE Utah has 60 certified instructors representing 21 agencies and has certified over 600 officers.
ABLE teaches the tactics and strategies to help officers:
1. Avoid Mistakes
2. Avoid Police Misconduct
3. Promote Officer Health and Wellness
