This course is designed to provide investigators with proven techniques that can be applied in various accusatory and non-accusatory interview situations. Participants will develop skills in preparing for the interrogation with a game plan, which emphasizes a proactive, rather than reactive role. Students in this course will perform the skills learned in a interview and interrogation simulations, so they graduate with actual practice, not just theory.

Students will learn to:

Develop rapport on purpose

Develop flexibility

Develop a game plan

Understand the suspect’s plays

Have appropriate defenses

Create complete offensive strategies

Utilize a variety of interview styles

Effective interview/interrogation room or environmental setups

Suspect Elimination and Identification Strategies

This course, one of our most popular Law Enforcement Investigations courses, was thoroughly reviewed by the IADLEST NCP assessment team and successfully passed the rigors of their independent review process.

Instructor:

Detective (Ret.) Anthony Campione

Tony retired after serving more than thirty years with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and the Rochester Police Department. In addition to road patrol duties with both agencies, Tony served in several units and divisions. During his tenure he was assigned to the Narcotics Unit, the Tactical Section and the Background Investigations Unit. After making investigator, he was assigned to the Clinton & Genesee Sections. He completed his career serving fifteen years in the Homicide Section of the Rochester Police Department. One of the highlight was being involved with the interrogation and subsequent confession of the serial killer, Arthur Shawcross. He also served several years as a Field Training Officer. Since 1979, Tony has been a certified Police Instructor for the State of New York, as well as a Master Instructor. Since 1986, Tony has taught both Basic and Advanced Interview & Interrogation Techniques for BowMac throughout the United States, having been certified in several states.
